Katie Glensor

Co-Executive Director

Katie is a native northern Nevadan who started as the Young Scholars Application Coordinator for the Davidson Institute in 2007 shortly before completing her undergraduate journey at the University of Nevada, Reno. Certain she wanted to work with children but uncertain in how exactly that would manifest, Katie continued to explore different roles within the Institute over the years.

After completing her master’s degree as well as hundreds of hours in acute hospital settings providing patient care and support, Katie found herself most connected and grounded to her work with families in the world of education. Fueled by her passion for and belief in the power of summer programs, she partnered with Aimee Cummins to expand opportunities within Davidson’s program offerings with the creation of Davidson Summer STARS Camp. Katie's work has also always been closely connected to the Family Services sector of Davidson, striving to ensure that services continually evolve to meet the unique needs of profoundly gifted children and their families.

In 2016, Katie and Aimee were selected to serve as Co-Executive Directors for the Davidson Institute, a role they have enjoyed sharing since that time. Aside from the dynamic nature of the work of the Davidson Institute with its variety of programs and services, Katie greatly values the “think big” approach that has always served as the backbone of the organization. Katie has been fortunate to participate in a number of outreach and professional development opportunities, including membership and conference attendance for organizations such as National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC), American Camp Association (ACA), and Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).

Outside of her work at Davidson, Katie enjoys spending time with her spouse and their three very busy children.
