Differentiation and Early Elementary

Part 23 of Davidson Gifted Perspectives, a video series that examines a number of different gifted-related issues and viewpoints.

During one of our virtual events, a parent shared that their kindergartener shies away from any differentiation because it “singles him out.” The parent mentions that their student can only access differentiated work after completing his regular work and that he has to walk to get the worksheets himself. Our Director of Family Services discusses whether differentiation can be made “less obvious” and how to lessen anxiety around differentiated work for younger elementary school students.
