Annual Family Events - Davidson Institute

Davidson's annual family events are built on core values of connection and community with two opportunities offering distinct experiences to suit the varying needs of families. The Davidson Summit and Davidson Family Retreat take place between Davidson Summer Program sessions so families may maximize their summer experience. Both events are crafted to inspire, foster connection, and engage attendees through meaningful learning experiences.

Davidson Summit

Thursday, June 19 – Sunday, June 22, 2025 | Reno, NV

What began as a gathering with 15 Young Scholars has flourished into the Davidson Summit which has welcomed over 350 Davidson Youth and more than over 1000 attendees who come from across the country! This flagship event was designed to foster meaningful connections among profoundly gifted youth and their families through a variety of engaging activities that celebrate their unique talents and shared experiences. Participants of the Davidson Summit include families with current members and alumni from across all Davidson programs!

This annual event offers a conference-style experience. Over the weekend participants will enjoy keynote speakers, an exhibit hall, youth workshops, parent presentations, panels, our signature talent show, mixers, and more! At the Summit, you'll find events curated to inspire your talent development, network with resources, find connection among families with like-minded peers, all while celebrating the potential and achievements of our community.

Davidson Family Retreat

Thursday, July 10 – Sunday July 13, 2025 | Reno, NV

New for 2025, the Davidson Family Retreat weekend will provide Young Scholar families with a more intimate and relaxed experience. This event focuses on self-discovery, family and community bonding, and growth. In true retreat fashion, families joining us for this event will stay on-site overnight for the weekend, providing ample time for social activities geared with the whole family in mind. Highlights of Retreat include keynote presentations, close-knit workshops, on and off-site social activities, and a signature family vision board activity in reflection of the weekend.
