2024 Davidson Fellow Max Bloom was featured on CBS News Sacramento for his project, The Ilomon Project: Preserving Maasai Medicinal Heritage.
Max traveled to Tanzania where he studied, photographed, and documented plants native to the Maasai Tribe. Max then recorded these plants in a database explaining how each plant is used medicinally by the tribe. With foreign game reserves and trophy hunting companies forcing the Maasai Tribe to flee their land, Max intends to “help the Maasai preserve their remedies by collaborating with them to produce a lasting record of their rich natural health knowledge.”
