Jan was a trailblazer in the field of education, recognized for her passion and commitment to identifying and supporting the unique needs of exceptionally gifted students. In 1999, she, along with her husband Bob, piloted a support program for 15 profoundly gifted youth and their families and one year later founded the Davidson Institute, devoted to providing resources, advocacy, and opportunities for profoundly gifted young people.
Jan’s tireless efforts in championing the cause of gifted education were driven by her deep understanding of the challenges faced by highly capable students and her unwavering belief in the power of education to transform lives. Her pioneering work at the Davidson Institute touched the lives of countless individuals, fostering a community where the brightest minds could flourish and reach their full potential.
Known for her warmth, kindness, and unyielding advocacy, Jan inspired those around her to strive for excellence and to recognize the importance of nurturing the talents of every individual. Her vision and spirit left an enduring legacy that will continue to shape the landscape of gifted education for generations to come.
