What Options for Acceleration Can Parents Discuss with a School

Many families with profoundly gifted children are familiar with the idea that they might have to advocate for their student’s unique educational needs. But many families don’t know what to ask for, or how to present their ideas to a school.
In this question, the family references 4th grade, which is a transitional period for many students. Anecdotally, we see executive function, writing, and output demands ramp up for students around 4th grade. This might not be developmentally appropriate for all profoundly gifted or twice-exceptional children who often develop asynchronously.
